WEIGHTED BLANKET PATTERN (these are "editor edits" as made by a super sewing family member: -pick whatever material you like, as you just sew the pieces to each other; in the directions. #2 - DON'T cut all the little pieces as this is just for visual effect; skip 3, 4, 5; follow directions from #6 on to the end. Instead of sheets, you can use whatever works - hand towels, old t-shirts/sweatshirts.)
Architecture for Autism: Adapted architecture can make an enormous difference in the lives of people with autism and those around them. It’s quite possible it’s just as helpful as good training and treatment. Clearly, training, counseling and treatment would be greatly hampered if they are attempted in spaces which are not responsive to the needs of the people in question. Since just a few years , there has been increased attention to the way homes, schools, places of work and treatment are designed. Sharing and expanding this sort of knowledge and its practical applications is the mission of Architecture for Autism.

Downs Designs clothes are more than just shortening a sleeve or taking up a hem, we take design a step further. My inspiration has been my granddaughter, Maggie, who was born with Down Syndrome. As I watch her grow, I see the challenges her mother (my daughter Michelle) faces in finding clothes that fit Maggie appropriately.
